About the Fundraiser:
Life can change in an instant. We have likely all experienced moments that change life forever. That is what happened to my very good friend Melanie, a beautiful, sweet, genuine girl - only 35 years old and a nurse who has given back so much to others. One minute innocently, happily riding bikes with her boyfriend Mike "Brew" on June 5th, Melanie fell and hit her head.
Melanie suffered a severe brain trauma and will need years of rehabilitation. She has repeatedly beaten the odds and we pull for her to continue down that path. But after months of hospitalization and care, costs exceed what the mind can comprehend with lifetime insurance limits maxed out. Melanie's family is trying to bring her home so that she can receive the best care available to someone in her situation. In order for this to happen the home requires a lift system, a handicap bathroom, and a rehabilitation table for her much needed therapy at a cost of approximately $70,000.
Her friends in Denver have created Melanie's Fund to raise money for her care. The Melanie's Fund website www.melaniesfund.com includes her story, opportunities to make monetary donations and a place to get more information for the event on January 31st, 2009 - "Mel's Rock n' Volley".

Attend the Event. Join us! Dance, play and celebrate life at our first event "Mel's Rock n' Volley" on Saturday January 31st, 2009 at The Island in Denver, Colorado. Melanie's fund will host a charity coed 4x4 Volleyball Tournament, Silent Auction and Benefit Party with live music by Solar & Marty Jones. Volleyball tournament starts at 11 AM.
